Ms. Col's New York City based legal practice covers all the major areas of U.S. immigration law, providing legal assistance to clients seeking immigrant (permanent) and non-immigrant (temporary) U.S. visas, as well as U.S. citizenship benefits. Her clients include multinational corporations doing business in the United States, many of the largest Brazilian banks and financial institutions, as well as individuals seeking expertise and guidance on U.S. immigration issues. Brazil-born and U.S.-educated, Sonia Col graduated from Rutgers University, and received her J.D. Degree from Seton Hall University School of Law University School of Law in 1979. In 1985, she completed the LL.M curriculum in federal taxation at New York University School of Law. Ms. Col is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Since 1992, she has been a regular lecturer in tax planning and related issues at the Graduate School of Financial Studies at the American College. She has also spoken and written extensively on matters relating to U.S. immigration law.
